Christopher Robin, as we all know, is the child from the children’s book Winnie the Pooh which has been lately voted as the most beloved children’s book of all time.
However, we might have missed the story behind this book, the story that is told in the 2017 movie Goodbye Christopher Robin.
This film sheds light on A.A Milne's life story, the person who wrote Winnie the Pooh and the father of Christopher Robin. Both the book and Christopher Robin himself were made to help A.A Milne to overcome his PTSD from World War I.
The film presents the contrast between the happy character of the book and the tragic circumstances for which it was written as well as the personal cost that Christopher Robin had paid for the rest of his life because of that book.
As a history buff, I enjoyed finding out in this film about World War I from a new point of view and about that time period.
